Sailing Round Up.
The first two races of the season were held on Saturday 17th October. With a forecast of 25 knots gusting to 40 we decided early to pull the pin and leave Peregrine in the pen. No point in abusing Barry's trust in us while he, Ryan and Charlot were away. We have missed out on the racing points, but as it turned out it was a good decision, there was plenty of carnage aboard those boats that did venture out.

Race 3 - last Saturday (24th) was an Olympic course. With Barry, Ryan and Charlotte still away in Thailand, we had Adam on the bow, Luke at the mast, Janet and me in the pit, Russel on the main and Graeme on the helm.
The two big boats, Extasea and Cinquante as expected got away from the fleet in a 12 k, SW breeze shifting to the S, later filling in from the S to 18 k. We were able to put good distance between ourselves and the rest of the fleet crossing the finish line in 3rd place, but unable to break sufficiently away from McKenzie Composites to get any better than a 4th on corrected time.
Graeme and I have raced against each other for years. This is the first time we have raced on a boat together, but at the end of the day we both felt it was 'just like ol' times'.
