Thank goodness that Amelia May was not borne on Maddie's Birthday. Ones birthdays is special and I guess Amelia knew this and chose to arrive on the 10th October, a day before Maddie's 2nd birthday.
Gaye was already in Sydney and I travelled up on Saturday evening to join John, Gaye and Maddie before Vic and Amelia arrived home from hospital on Sunday. It was a busy day. Along with Amelia's trip home we picked up some pot plants and paintings from 3M and participated in a welcome home / birthday party in the afternoon.
Life is not to be measured in the number of breaths we take, but in the number of moments we make.

I am 8 Weeks Old Today,,,
,,, and not that I am counting, I have grown a whole 10cm since I was born. I am being measured here in inches. Mom recons that its easier for the camera to see the numbers - or something like that. And also when my Great Grandmother in Canada sees me in this photo she will know what the numbers mean.

Saw Madeleine Today
I saw Madeleine for the first time today. Gaye has been up in Sydney these past couple of weeks during the lead up to Vic having her baby. I travelled up on the Friday afternoon Jetstar flight. It will be a big week end for Madeleine. Both Jeff and Jill (John's Dad and Mom) are here for the week end as too is Susan. All here to give Madeleine a cuddle. Here are a couple of the numerous pics taken of Madeleine in the hospital by Gaye. I will get some of my pics up when I get them off the camera.

Weekend Update
Wow, a very full weekend. It started early with picking Vic up at Avalon Airport on Thursday evening. She had come down early to spend some quality time with her Mom - Ahhh. Isn't she a seeetie? had lunch on Torquay beach and Stev managed to coincide his lunch break with our travels and joined us. Post lunch, sans Steve we went to the Torquay Resort for coffee. It's great - the coffee costs the same as you would spend at the local cafe, but the views are great and you are treated as a guest by the delightful restaurant staff.
Had a break when Vic caught up with Anne for afternoon tea, then off to the airport to pick John up. Same 20:05 flight as Vic, but a day later. The reason for the trip was the Hume Highway Aubry bypass completion celebration scheduled for Saturday evening.
Some quality time with Vic and John on Saturday morning before they were off to the Hutchies for a 2nd birthday party before heading up to Melbourne for the work function.
Me, I was off to Swan Bay for some windsurfing where I caught up with Red, Pat and Jacques who had the same idea. Nice non gusty northerly treated us with some great sailing. Pat took a short video. and loaded it up to U Tube here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic7fZxbfRhQ
For Sunday, Gaye and I drove down to the waterfront to check out if there was any carnage from the 40-50 knot Northerly which had been blowing steadily since 23:00 Sat night. We weren't disappointed, a couple of yachts had dragged there moorings and were in various stages of retrieval.
Steve and Regan helped out by picking up the Mustang at the airport, where John and Vic had left it, allowing me to hook into the 30 knot Westerly which had blown thru at about midday.
A little overpowered on the SSR 5.6, but a great session. Red lent Pat his old Extreme Slalom. At the end of the session, Pat hit the beach even more excited than usual, (if you can believe that).
It was a good turnout. 8 guys on the water.
Sue had a full w/end too. Dim was down and she did the round of lunches and dinners with his rellos.

Quick Trip to Sydeny

Had a great weekend with vic and John in Sydney. Flew up on Friday afternoon in time to catch John and his mates for an after work Friday beer. The back to their apartment to watch Stage 13 of Le Tour. didn't see too much of it, the couple of Kilkenny's at the pub meant an early night. Who am i kidding? bed time is bed time. Come 10:30 that's it for me.

Saturday ride up to Church Point, then back thru Terry Hills on a beautiful Sydney winters day, then an afternoon at the Dee Why Tappas restaurant on the beach. Sunday saw up up on Long Reef looking for whales. Sharp eye Vic saw on right in near the beach with a couple of surfers floating nearby for a closer look. It was a little distant for us, but I think I saw a mom and calf.
Sunday a game of golf at Lane Cove Golf Club. A lovely course in a steep sided gully with a creek leading down into Sydney Harbour. Very enjoyable. All good things must come to an end, so John dropped me off at Mascot to catch you 6:35 flight back to Avalon.
While I was away Steve and Regan hosted a murder. Sounds like they had a great evenings entertainment.

Some Have It Good
So, is it any wonder Vic and John are feeling the post holiday blues. They just sent me a selection of their photos from their Hamelton Island Babymoon trip. It included helicopter ride over Whitehaven Beach and the surrounding islands, snorkeling, evening sailing, swimming. Clear skies and 25 deg C temperatures were the norm. Who would want to leave beautiful Queensland for the southern states winter?
