Where to Wed?

Spent the day with Steve and Regan scanning the coast for a suitable sandy beach for the wedding. Several options presented themselves;
1. Barwon Heads, 1 st carpark after the bridge.
2. Ocean Grove headland.
3. Bremlea surf beach.

Jury still out.

Finally a Kangaroo

Anna is down from Thailand for a couple of weeks, so we took her to Point Nepean for some sight seeing today. Mind you, no guarantees of wildlife sightings. Previous attempts here have failed dismally. Even the Angelsea Golf Club failed to produce any kangaroos at the last attempt. After a great lunch at the Postsea Pub we headed to Point Nepean to walk it off a bit and struck luck in the kangaroo sighting stakes.

High Tides and WIld Seas

The tide was particularly high and along with the big seas whipped up from the westerly fronts over the past couple of days made for exciting times down on the beach. A little too exciting for one of three girls on the back beach who were chasing the waves up and down to sand at the time. One particularly large wave caught the slowest of the girls and she disappeared into the wall of water. The wave exploded into spray against the seawall completely engulfing her. She became visible again clinging to the wall only after what was left of the 6 ft wave receded back down the beach.

She retired chastened to the grass above the high water line to contemplate her close call.

WS at Barwon Heads

At Red's suggestion we tried Barwon Heads. A strong westerly all night looked like making today a great sail. However as we arrived the 30 knots faded to a gusty 10 to 20. Between the shortlived gusts there was nothing. Got dropped in the channel several times. Will be a great spot in a steady breeze.
