Life is not to be measured in the number of breaths we take, but in the number of moments we make.

First Pic After the Class
For Christmas, Vic and John shouted me a photo course run by Photoskills http://www.photoskills.com.au/ . Went along today. Turns out that that Cal, the guy who sold me the camera at Camera House, was our tutor. He is my first photo post the course.

Roger
Just got of the phone to Dianna. Looks like Roger has been in the wars. Just after Christmas he was feeling unwell, went to the Epworth where doctors determined he needed a pacemaker. A week later, brand new pm installed and calibrated he and Dianna were off to Picnic Point to resume their holiday. They were only there for a few days before the doctor called saying he wasn't happy about Rogers blood tests and wanted to check him over again. It was a good call, he had some (unrealted) internal bleeding. This rectified he was once again home and planning to return to PP, but a sore shoulder had him return to the Epworth Emergency to have it checked out. Another good call. The shoulder was more than sore, he had 'septic shoulder', and had it not been recognised by the brilliant emerg doctor and attended to would have deteriorated to septicemia. Not cool. Well, I gave Rog a call today to his bedside phone at the hospital. He is a little out of it with antibiotics and pain killers, buy managed a joke between nana naps.
Wow, we thought our start to 2009 was bad.

"Was that Izaac Chicken Dancing with the Girls?"
Before the Wedding
John on the wave of the day
It has become somewhat of a 'Montys tradition' to hit the surf in the morning before a wedding. It started when Gaye and I got married and was followed up at Vic and John's wedding in Byron Bay. I must admit, the water temperature at Torquay isn't the same as Byron and this along with Stev, Craig and Isaac's natural reluctance for salt water and waves had me thinking we might not be able to pull it off this time. However, they humoured me and after breakfast conceded to at least put a toe in the water. It was surprisingly warmer that they had thought, Isaac started to catch a few waves and they all stayed in long enough for me to get the camera and take a few shots.
