Some More Pics from Rebecca's Visit

We were delighted that Rebecca made the effort to include us in her holiday plan for Australia. Whilst she was here we managed to get her and Anna out on Peregrine for a sail. This particular day was a Sunday and also a race for the 'Lady Skipper Trophy'. The wind was light and Charlotte took the helm. She confided that she had not sailed a boat since she was 15 years old, but she had not lost her touch. Had a real feel for making the boat go fast and was right on the transom of the lead boat at the first mark. As the day played out, we managed to get both Rebecca and Anna wet when they were made responsible for dragging in the spinnaker at the first bottom mark. We were overtaken by a quicker boat during the rest of the race, to finally finish a very respectable third over the line.
Bruiser the wombat was the second highlight of the day. Then a rush back to the train station to get Rebecca and Anna back to Melbourne for Chinese New year celebrations.
Hope you enjoyed you trip to Australia Rebecca. Looking forward to you doing it again soon.

Wasn't Meant to be...

... but ended up a pretty full week end. Mended a toilet, fixed the air conditioner leak, installed a shelf, took Rebeca and Anna for a sail (we came 3rd over the line and 3rd on handicap see: http://www.rgyc.com.au/results/alpha0910/lady/01RGrp21.htm )
Pic of Rebecca and Anna doing their 'Titanic' thing.
And then to Jirrahlinga Animal Sanctuary to see some native animals.
No koalas at the zoo, but a very amiable wombat named "Bruiser" came out for Rebecca to pat.

Happy Birthday and a One Year Anniversary

Gaye's 60th Birthday this weekend. We started with a promise of a weekend in the Blue Mountains complimented with a class at the Art Gallery Sydney, last week - compliments of everybody. we started the celebrations a week early because Gaye and I were in Sydney, as was Vic, John, Madeline, Sue and Dim. We contacted Steve and Regan via Skype.

This weekend (read Sunday) we caught up with Jeff an Jill and Steve and Regan at Kilgore Winery for lunch. Great afternoon ( love the view over the water to the You Yangs), followed by coffee and a play with Nicholas and Alexander at Jeff and Jill's Mansion.

I say 'read Sunday' because there was a honking Sou'Easterly romping in on the Saturday - couldn't resist. Off to Conna for a sail. Highly worthwhile, Pinged a PB over a Nautical Mile. Looking for a 30knot+ shortly.
