Trip Planning

John and Jenny have invited us to spend a week with them at Hervery Bay next month aboard their beautifly cat Spirited 1. Now here is a boat and lifestyle I am sure one can get used to. No bunks here only Cabins with queen size beds and ensuites.

Happy Birthday Suzie 19 May

Toastmasters

Vic was keen to improve her public speaking, presentation and communications skills and to do so signed up for a Toastmasters course. Each fortnight over the 16 week introductory course participants do short presentations on nominated topics.

Towards the end of the course experienced Toastmasters members sit in and judge presentations. Vic and others in her group were paid the highest compliment when one of the judges said the presentations were of " competition standard".

Vic's final presentation (last night) was to be on "a topic close to the heart'. Her chosen topic - Breast Cancer. Must have been a powerful presentation with emotions getting the better of some. Her message - the benefits of early detection. Onya Vic.

Redgum Stool.

Knocked up a small stool for the garden the onther day, but after sanding and polishing the redgum we couldn't put it out into the garden to weather. The beautiful timber comes courtesy of Lea. The artistic eye from Gaye. Manual labor - me.

The Papermill Cafe

Laurie, Clive and me solving the problems of the world over a glass of red at the Paper Mill Cafe in Clarendon St.

Tonight we determined that a slow boat trip up the Gordon River to its source will provide the answer to long life and happiness.

Wouldn't get me anywhere near that robot.

Sue's New Shoes

Planning for Sue's trip to Spain took a giant leap forward this week when she purchased a comfy pair of shoes for the trip.

Early Winter Stroll at Torquay

When the opportunity arises, we can not resist the short trip to Torquay Beach for a walk.

Terry Hills

A slow game of golf at Terry Hills with Vic and John after enjoying Grant and Susie's hospitality the day before.

Still Got It

Ryan invited us out on Peregrine for a March afternoon sail. Ryan and Tony appear relaxed as Gaye proves she still has a dab hand at skippering.

Travel Bug

Only 30 more sleeps before Sue departs on her big adventure to Spain. They recon the surf is good in Spain.

Romance in the Air

Steve announced some great news recently. He has proposed to Regan. Made an occasion of it. Invited her for breakfast at Point Danger, cooked up bacon and eggs and proposed as the sun came up. Must get the romantic gene from his Mom.
Planning is in full swing for an Engagement Party in early June and a Jan 2009 date for the Wedding.

Who is the Artist?

Gaye has become prodigious with her work these days.

A Saturday at Home.

After checking out the surf, buying a second hand fin from Aaron and checking out the bike shop in Torquay for brake pads, we spent the best part of the rest of Saturday at home.

Some ceramic animals have found a termporary home in one of my projects in the garrage.

Gaye has a work in progress.

Mainstream 2008 in Sydney

Continuing to get the SmartAsset message out there. Here Kevin and I are exhibiting at Mainstream2008 in Novatel at Brighton Le Sands in Sydney. Travel arrangements worked out well. The conference was scheduled for the Monday/Tuesday after the ANZAC Day holiday. I went early so I could spend some time with Vic and John.

Now for Pictures

Good, got the writing down. Now to see about posting some pics.

Sue shows us her new office.

Its Autumn and the tree in the front yard is changing colour before loosing its leaves for the winter.

Caught up with Vic and John in Sydney over the ANZAC Long week end. Vic and John recently purchased themselves mountain bikes. John showing his off. The back of Dee Why is a great location for mountain biking with plenty of off road.

Gaye has been painting up a storm. Here she is experimenting with gold leaf. The final result is now hanging in the sunroom.

About to Start Blogging

OK, so i have put this blog thing off long enough. I have decided to once again try to commit to regular blog entries so that I will have a good diary for later reference.
