Exhibiting at ICOMS 2010

Kevin and I travelled to Adelaide last week to exhibit at ICOMS 2010. This year the venue was at the Adelaide University and the vendors took over Bonython Hall to set up the exhibition stands.

As you can see by the pics, it was a great venue.

The trip home was via Renmark and Mildura so we could keep an appointment at Renmark Irrigation Trust. Got to see a lot of country Victoria and the Murray River. Renmark and Mildura are remarkably pretty towns. Must make a return trip.

Steve Gets a New Job

Here is Steve signing up for his new job at Broadcast Australia. We are very proud of Steve, he secured his first job with Joe at Belmont Antenna and TV Repairs and stuck at it for 4 years until he completed his training and tertiary education and gained is indenture papers.
It was all worht while. Broadcast Australia offered him a position as technician. It involves a move to Sheparton, which is about 4 hours drive North of Geelong. Looks like a few trips to the country coming up to see Owen grow up.

Owen Placed an Order for a Mobile

Grandchildren can really test your limits. I thought mobiles would be easy. But Gaye and I found getting the balance point just right a little fiddly. Needed just a little dash of Scotch in my tea to get this project across the line.

Box Making with Vic on the Bandsaw

When Vic was visiting earlier this month, we couldn't have her leave without having achieved building at least one little project.
So here is her 'Russian Doll' box. Made from a solid piece of Cyprus Pine, the initial design called for a second smaller box to be made out of the cut out from the bigger box. Gaye thought it would be nice to make a third box from the cut out of the second. Hmmm, much work here, but we complied. I happened to accidentally cut up the cut out form the third box before Gaye had us building a 4th box. Hmm, that made sense when I wrote it!!

Sometimes it hard to get everybody to look at the camera

Its very rare theses days to get a shot with all the family together at the same time, but we nearly made it here. Dim is missing. Maybe next time? But to get a photo is like herding cats. Common guys look at the birdie. Madeleine has the right idea!!

FAST Babies Can Catch You Napping

Hi Cousin.

Madeleine and Owen say hello.

More pics from the Visit

John Graduates

As well as working and being a new Dad, John found time to study and graduate his Masters at the University of New South Wales.

John Vic and Madd Visit

There has been so many things happening, I haven't had an opportunity to write them up.

The very next weekend after Gaye arrived back in Geelong from her visit to Sydney, Vic, John and Maddie were visiting us. What a treat. John had to return to work at the end of the weekend, but Vic and Maddie stayed on providing us with plenty of photo opportunities. Even in the short space of one week Madeleine has started to crawl and every day comes up with a new thing to do, like a different style of smile, or noise to make. All aimed I am sure at making us think she is the most charming little baby on the planet.

The boxes are a little project that Vic and I worked on together in the spare moments Maddie allowed her.
