We are doing pretty well....when I can convince the girl to get some sleep!

She is still rolling around alot and gets up on all fours rocking back and forth. Right now she has discovered her box of toys and is sorting through for something fun. We bought her colorful alphabet foam mats that link together. She has already discovered how to separate them. Good for chewing!

Owen's Procedure Postponed

Earlier this week (Wednesday) we were hoping to find out more as to the reason for, and extent of Owens kidney problem. He was scheduled for a small procedure to take an inside look with a camera. But Owen had other ideas about that. He developed a temperature during the night before the procedure was scheduled and the doctors determined to postpone and put him on antibiotics in case the temperature was a result of an infection. Which we later found out it was. He is over that now and the procedure is rescheduled to next Monday.

In the meanwhile, after other test results returned negative for spinal fluid and spinal nerve damage and have been ruled out as causal factors.

From the news Desk of Our Interstate Corespondent.

Hi guys,
Thought you'd be interested to know Maddie started solids yesterday.

Her facials expression with the first mouthful was "I don't like this tasteless muck but I'll eat it anyway!" She has rice cereal (farex) with a little water. Yesterday she had half a teaspoon, today she had 3! Good appetite!

Off to a good start. Unfortunately it hasn't helped her sleep through yet!

Owl Family Puzzle

Juvenile King Parrots Visit.

Two juvenile King Parrots paid us a visit today. The king parrots have been in the area for some time, but only recently have been stopping for a drink at the birdbath and a scratch around in the grass.

Triton Scroll Saw

With two grandchildren it was time to hone up on my toy making skills, so to get started I purchased a scroll saw a week back. Already Owen is the recipient of OwenTrain. Madeleine has hr name blocked out in pine and a couple of other projects are under way.
Gotta thank Sue for most of the money that went into the purchase. She was able to give us a couple of vouchers for participating in a survey for Miter 10.
Oh, also for good record keeping, Sue has been working for the Group for one week now, after quitting after a months and a half from Ogilvy. Ogilvy is a large company and Sue prefers to work with smaller organisations.

OwenTrain

In addition to two bears and a two rabbits Owen now has an 'OwenTrain' to help him thru his little rough patch. OwenTrain (and his friends) are tuff and strong and are here to help little Owen whenever he needs it.

Owen and the Hungry Hippo

During yesterdays visit to the Neonatal Ward, I found Owen having a little smile to himself in the knowledge that his Mom likes his Hungry Hippo top as much as he does.
It was soon to be off so he could have his 1730 bath.
Owen had lost a little weight so the yesterday the doctors decided to reintroduce his feeding tube - that's the one through his nose. Today Regan reported that overnight he gained 4 grams. Does not sound like a lot, but it is a couple of percentage points when you are starting at 7lb 3 oz. (3,260 grams) and his weight is moving in the right direction.

I was rather touched to hear a nurse in Owen's room singing to a baby to settle him down after a little cry (the baby, not the nurse). I am sure singing to babies is not in her Job Description, but it certainly worked, he settled down and became very interested in all the excitement surrounding Owens' bath time.

Owen Michael Enjoys Easter

Today is Easter Monday and Owen is enjoying a little nap at the Royal Children's Hospital. Still in the Neonatal Ward, but now out of the humidicrib and into his own little bed. And the feed tube removed. A great step forward. The urologist has concluded that the valves are working OK, and will be doing a little camera inspection tomorrow.

Vic and John were down for Tony's funeral. John stayed a couple for days, then back to Sydeny for work. We were trated with Vic and Maddie's company right up to Good Friday.
