Mikaela’s 5th Birthday Party Celebration

Happy birthday Mikaela. A little different this one, but a pleasure singing the birthday song for you. That ice cream cake that Mom and Dad brought you looked great. I bet it was delicious. Luca certainly looked like he was enjoying his portion. I see Maddie and Amelia did some special baking so they could enjoy some cake with you. And Owen, Alannah and Zoe certainly could sing up a storm. Happy Birthday Mika.

Owen's First Birthday

From Left to Right: Back Row: Gaye, Deidre, Ester; Front: Steven, Owen Regan
Behind Steve, Owen and Regan there ate; Dim, Madeleine, Sue, Geoff, Gaye, Vic and John.
Behind Steve. Regan and Owen, there are Geoff Wayne (Regan's Dad) and Col, (Deidre's partner)

Owen and Meredith (Regan's Sister)

Regan and Steven were prepared to do all the work to make a fuss about Owen's First Birthday. And deservedly so too. Owen (and Mom) have spent a good deal of Owen's first year at the Royal Children's Hospital for checks and tests to try and resolve a kidney concern. We are all grateful that Owen takes all this in his stride and is just the happiest little one year old you would like to know and love. Anyway -- BIG occasion, and Vic and John (with gifts of growing chart and puzzels0 and Susan and Dim (who brought him a beautiful wooden bike) were not going to let it pass without making the effort to travel from Sydney to join in on the the celebration which was scheduled for a 11:30 am Saturday 2nd March at Deidre's home. All the relations were there. Deidre and Col. Wayne and Ester, Jeff and Jill, as was all of Regan and Steve's friends. The pics tell the story of an especially important milestone for our Little Owen.... who by the way is now walking, but gets a little lazy if you offer him a hand. But it ... IS HIS BIRTHDAY.. so Happy Birthday Owen ...and Owen says thanks to Deidre for making her home available for the party.

Big Weekend

Well a week after visiting Vic and John in Sydney, they turn up on our doorstep. After discovering that she could survive a weekend with us, Vic has decided to push the limits of her comfort zone. Although arriving home on Sunday exhausted, she managed the trip very well.

So to the week end. A birthday lunch party for me followed by birthday dinner with Jeff and family, backed yup with Mothers day on Sunday.

Oh and here is the update on the baby bump.

Vic's Birthday

It was Vic's birthday last week. John had a surprise for her - a well kept secret trip to the Mayal Lakes which incorporated all the things she likes - surfing, horse riding, bicycling and walks on the beach. Still awaiting some photos. I think the surf towels arrived too late for the trip.

Steve Has a Birthday

Looks like Steve has adopted Vic n John's practice of week long birthday celebrations. Pics here are from a get together at home during the week and later on Saturday night when Sue and Meredith joined Gaye, Regan and me at the Plaza in Torquay for a great birthday dinner with Steve. Presies included beach towels and spitfire history.
